It's really sad to see what passes for quality manufacturing in many US industries today, especially the RV industry. These units are certainly not worth the money they command.
I purchased a new top of the line Coleman popup trailer in the mid-90s and a new Sunnybrook Mobile Scout travel trailer in 2001. Neither of these units ever had to be returned to the dealer for any issues whatsoever.
I'm currently saving funds to purchase a new 5th wheel but based on what I see and hear a significant number of new owners going through I may decide to put my money into a good used unit or totally forgo a camper purchase.
I'm still employed and have precious little time to relax or take a nice vacation. I look to camping as a way to unwind, enjoy time with friends and family and take in what nature has to offer. I certainly don't want to spend that time fixing a brand new RV with subpar quality.
Definitely on the fence regarding a new RV purchase!
