Absolutely stay away. I have had one in my house for 15 plus years and love it. We just bought a new fiver and hated the on demand water heater. If we camped with full hookups all the time it might be ok, just ok. Every time you turn the hot water faucet off it takes around 8 seconds before the tankless starts to make hot water, then heat the water sending cold water through the line the whole time. Navy shower?
Get wet, turn water off, soap up, turn water on to rinse. The water heater has to sense water flow, then turn on exhaust fan, then turn on the burner, then heat water, then get hot water from the water heater to the shower. Mine has been replaced and is stored in the barn.
