Shock absorbers on 5th wheel
The way you check shock absorbers on a car does not work on a 5th wheel so how does one check the shock absorbers ??

The only way to truly check them is remove one end move them in and out and check for resistance. If you have gas charged units you won't see leakage so even on a vehicle you have to remove them to really see if they are really working, if you go that far just replace them. Monroe Gas Magnums work really good on a trailer,that's what I'm using.
