I went through several different controllers and none would give me much current when hauling a 19,000 pound living quarter horse trailer with all the gear and 4 horses onboard.
If you turn up a Prodigy you get a jerk the instant the brake light switch closes but with a heavy load the decel the integrated sensor needs to see to dial up more current doesn't happen.
I switched to MaxBrake and it is PERFECT. Your foot directly controls what the trailer brake does based on the pressure of the truck's brakes. What most of the factory integrated controllers do.
THE big problem is that MaxBrake seems to be out of business. Southwest Wheel no longer has them and their website is off.
