rear end sag

I have an 09 1500 6l max tow. I will be able to tow my new 5er and stay within the specs, but it will be close.I am worried about rear end sag, what is a good way to relevel my truck if required.Airbags, booster springs, spring shocks, ect. ect.? Thanks for any &all replies.

Hey, the weight cops earned that nickname fair and square and I wasn't the one who gave it too them. I was just heading them off! I also had a 1/2T and pulled a 5er, within limits. That little combo could get in anywhere and we had the most fun with it. That's why a get pretty hacked, even when I just smell the weight cops coming on. Q: "BUT, what if you don't need air bags?" A: But, I DO need air bags! I did a lot of changes to my rear truck suspension and air bags were part of the plan. I cut off the ends of the bottom OL springs and the airbags replaced them. Those changes and a couple of other things made my dually ride better than the 1/2T I had. I not only need the air bags... they are a must. Craig

Well, heck, now that's a compliment..you're right....I use to do the name calling to, then I started doing the math and found out some of them were right...now I'm one..so thanks for the compliment...I did earn the nick name...and all I stated in this post was, "yes, airbags will help level the load"...
  • 1/2 ton, 3/4 ton, 1 ton srw, 1 ton dually heck even a SUV/Mini Van can tow.

That has NEVER been the issue.......towing beyond limits IS.

Airbags, Timbrens, overload springs, extra leafs etc. can be used to limit tail sag/ride height BUT can not be used to increase load capacity.

Nothing wrong with using any to help in ride height.

I wouldn't have a truck w/o air bags. I can pump the bed back up to the unloaded height. I don't think anything else can do that. Get ready for the weight cops to give you a blast of ship about even thinking about towing or hauling with a 1/2T. Craig

Agree that OP can help re-level load with airbags...BUT, what if you don't need air bags? I don't need to pump my bed back up, truck runs level. I would also say that anyone else that has airbags on their truck and do the same thing you can...oh...Nice touch with the name calling, "weight cops"..
