To some who say they want a big rear window? Didn't you ever notice there are almost always large windows on the sides. Also usually on the wall area that slides out and they look the same direction as the rear window does and also look forward too, DUH! Does your rear window let you also look forward, bet not! Did you even think about these things before you purchased your RV?
We find the center kitchen console/sink to be utterly stupid as it splashes water and food residue all over where you walk and track it around and even worse is that it's in the way and usually blocks entry to 1/2 or more of your RV when the slides are in. Many even block access to the fridge or anything in the kitchen and some models also block use of the toilet without opening one or more slides first. So dumb and a very poor design!
OK, so answer me this, why is someone with a rear living area a messier cook than one with a rear kitchen? Our side kitchen gives us unobstructed access to the refrigerator, counter space and sink (all in the left slide but designed so the dinette slide does not interfere with access. There is a range hood over the stove/oven and a good size window by the sink to open and vent odors and bring in fresh air not to mention the entry door is right there to deal with odors. As for looking forward, there is only 5th wheel trailer I know of that just came out with the kitchen in the front (where 5th wheel bedroom and a few livings rooms are usually placed. This front kitchen has a large window in the front cap for a view to the front).
