recommendation for mattress pad/cover for the stock mattress

Can anyone recommend a mattress pad/cover for the stock mattress? I don;t want to buy a new mattress but I want to make the existing more comfortable. Thanks

We have the Costco topper too, and honestly the mattress still sucks. My suggestion is buy a new mattress. I am pretty sure the RV mattresses were designed by the same guy that built medieval torture chambers. Pads "help" but they can not mask the shortcomings of a bad mattress from the start. Get the measurements of your mattress, as RV sizes are not normal. And visit stores like the Denver Mattress store and others to see if you can find what fits you best.

    this is good advice!
  • Have a 3 inch Geo Matt made by Span America, I would rather sleep on it than my new king size pillow top mattress from the Sleep Train. To get a Geo Matt, go to a medical supply store, if anyone wants more information PM me and I will get right back to you.
  • Our 14" new comfy queen mattress made all the difference in camping comfort, its nicer than our home king setup. Wasnt that expensive really.

The stock matress, nothing could help make it worth sleeping on.
  • I got a 4" Topper from Wally World. It improved things but putting a soft top onto an already squishy mattress didn't seem logical.

I went to Lowe's and got a sheet of "luan" plywood - the really thin (1/4") and lightweight stuff. Sliding the 'plywood' between the original mattress and the Wally World topper has made a big difference.

  • Many folks purchase a memory foam mattress topper. We have three inch toppers which are more comfortable than at home. We got them from overstock.com, but they are available from many sources. Good luck.

WE have the 3-inch memory foam toppers on our POPUP trailer beds. Also memory foam pillows... Works wonders for comfort...

One thing I wasn't aware of before we got them is they react to cold weather. If it gets down below freezing the memory foam gets hard as a rock. We left our pillows in the back seat of the truck one real cold night and those thing were hard as a rock haha... Same thing with the memory foam bed toppers. I guess if you was sleeping in them and it got down below freezing where you was sinking down in the memory would stay that way until the temp warmed up above freezing hehe.. Amazing stuff...
