Any gooseneck adapter applies force to the trailer at the gooseneck ball instead of the kingpin. That additional distance creates a moment arm which, when force is applied to it, creates a torque. How someone can argue that the stresses on the 5th wheel frame are not increased by a gooseneck adapter shows a lack of understanding of basic engineering statics and dynamics.
