Hope all is well, my wife and I have currently upgraded fifth wheels to a unit that weighs 12,000lbs and pull a boat that comes in at 4500lbs so were above the rates capacity on our 16k husky. It work...

Don't know about the rail issue, but I have the Reese 20K Select Series hitch in my truck, have had the hitch since 07', never had an issue with it...Don't know about your other hitch, but all you have to do is check legs of the Reese hitch, believe from locking tab to locking tab front to back is 22"...just measure across and see if your rails have a slot for the front to back diminsion (22") and if they can accomodate the width (ie, L to R measure)...can't remember what that one was....
You should be able to go to Reese on line and look up specs on the 20k and specs on your hitch that you have now and compare from that.
