Hope all is well, my wife and I have currently upgraded fifth wheels to a unit that weighs 12,000lbs and pull a boat that comes in at 4500lbs so were above the rates capacity on our 16k husky. It work...

Don't know about the rail issue, but I have the Reese 20K Select Series hitch in my truck, have had the hitch since 07', never had an issue with it..
X2, have the 20k Reese for my Big Horn at around 14k to 15k when loaded. No problems but I did have to learn and remember when hooking up, to lower the trailer hitch low enough to make the hitch head compltely level before hooking up.
