Hope all is well, my wife and I have currently upgraded fifth wheels to a unit that weighs 12,000lbs and pull a boat that comes in at 4500lbs so were above the rates capacity on our 16k husky. It work...

that's exactly what I was doing actually, putting two more bolts through 1/16" thick material is not going to be a saving grace for you if the others let go!
Do what you want - no skin off my back. I just think it's funny when someone ignores the manufacturer and searches for answers on a forum to justify their means.
