I now have a B&W with the jaws. This jaw thing, just did not seem as safe. After using the B&W, and studying how it functioned, it was obvious that this hitch could not open either, with the handle pinned or locked.

Once in a while I don't flip the handle on my B & W after I have the trailer up to pull out from under the hitch. I play hell trying to get it off after that. Have to put a bungee on the handle to leave pulled back and put in Reverse then drive before it will release. Darn sure better than dropping a trailer. Pretty bullet proof jaw set up.
