Removing Slideout Window to Install Window A\C ?

...........I'm living in my '5ver , not traveling around ! This forum is mainly made up of those who travel , but , maybe , someone(here) has some experience installing an A\C unit in their Slideout window and will respond .
...........I purchased a 12,000 btu window unit that will just barely fit into the window opening , IF I Remove the metal window frame . The rubber seal will remain in the hole cut into the wall of the slideout by the mfger . This A\C unit weighs 87 lbs so it is rather bulky to work with . It , also slides out of a metal enclosure , which is then installed through the slideout wall , and once the enclosure is situated in the window the A\C unit is then slide into the metal enclosure .
............I have several concerns about the general nature of the install , (1)If , I have to move to a new RV park I'll need to remove the enclosure so the slideout can be closed . I can either , fabricate a temporary insert for the hole or REinstall the metal window . Every time the window is installed the compression factor of tightening the screws to seal and water proof will be reduced thus creating a potential for rain infiltration into the walls of the slideout . This is a gamble in a way , because IF I don't change RV parks the initial install of the window unit will be water proofed when finished .
...........(2) , The reason I chose such a large A\C unit is because......IT is large enough to cool my '5ver all by itself , even IF the 15,000 btu roof unit were to die on me . My current roof unit simply cannot keep this trailer livable during the unbelievably HOT summers here , in TX . So , I have tried too , atleast mentally , analyze as many of the factors as possible before actually removing the slideout window prior to installing the A\C unit .
............So , IF anyone has any sage advice to offer relative to my stated concerns I'd appreciate as much constructive criticism as you(generic) would care to give . , Thanks , jf
