Repack bearings

How often should I get my bearings repacked on fifth wheel? Its a 2009 Keystone Laredo. I have had it since new. Done it every couple years, is that enough?

Maybe they have other interests besides RV'ing.

I did not repack the bearings on my Komfort, just shot a few pumps of grease into them every year. When I had the wheels off the ground, I'd check each one for play; all were tight up until I took it to a trailer shop in '14 and had all the bearings and seals replaced on general principles. Probably had < 15,000 total miles on it and not many more, since.

  • The local tire/brake shop tells me doing it every year is an absolute must. I figure they are over-selling by at least a factor of 2 so every 2 years seems to be about right. I probably put a couple thousand miles a year on.

Couple thousand miles a year-once every two year....way overkill IMHO.
