Glad I found this thread, Im out in Canyonlands chasing turkey, barely get aircard and phone service and now my 06 Sierra TH fuel pump made a noise and gurgle then stopped working. I have not been faithful about stabil and winterizing during the last 6 years, only last year and a few times before. Ive seen the gears have been the problem for most and other posts showing the motor causing the issue. If I try to repair this in the field, can I assume that gas will come out when I pull pump cover off? Is there a way to test the electric motor without taking too much apart? I do have a volt meter with me, thanks for any suggestions
