It finally happened to me too. But mine started out as a leak. Thought it was the rubber line between the tank and pump so pulled it off and it is JUNK! F'n ethanol! Thought that was it, reassembled and leaks even worse. Upon closer inspection see it is dripping from the pump housing. Took it off and on the bench see a "weep hole" so deduce the seal is shot; F'n ethanonl. So I've ordered a new gear set, new gaskets and seal. Total parts $35.00
