- BB_TXNomadMy fridge is located in a slide. So it has two vent covers in the outside wall, one near the bottom and one near the top. I was able to remove the top cover and, by leaning my head in as much as possible, see where the drain spout/tube came out the back of the fridge. Then reaching in, I was able to feel the tube enough to remove what was left of the old drain tube. Then I took the new clear tubing I had bought at Home Depot, slipped it down thru the nest of metal tubing and fins, to the bottom vent area. Then I managed to slip the top end of the new tubing over the drain spout. I pulled a wire tie tight around the tube to hold it tight on the spout. I reached in the lower vent opening and attached another couple wire ties to support the tubing. The bottom end of the new tubing I routed out the lower vent just as the old one was.
Happily I managed to do it without having to remove, or even slightly move, the fridge.
It is next to impossible to remove the inside drain cup (that has the drain spout out the rear) from inside the fridge without breaking it. Found that out the hard way. Had to buy a new drain cup, install it, then proceed as above. And the hole was not large enough to feed the drain tube thru even if I had gotten it out whole.
If your top vent is thru the roof, then this would not work. - Dave_H_MExplorer IIthanks folks, i am gonna get on it.
- dbblsExplorerYou need to reinstall the valve at the end of the tube.
