- ckwizard777ExplorerThis is what I put in our Montana
Whirlpool
Model WRT111SFDB
Works great. - mvpmichExplorerI've been looking for the same size (24" wx26" d) to replace my Dometic 2852. It's in a slide and the coach has dark sides. When the temp gets above 80 it can't stay cool. It's been replaced once three rear venting fans installed and three interior fans being used. I even purchased a unit for our bsmt storage to keep all the beverages so the interior of Dometic would have lots of free air flow. All to no avail. I've found two models of a 10 cu.ft. Frigidaire that has the width and depth dimensions that work. FFTR1022QB and FFET1022QB (energy efficient). Whirlpool and Frigidaire have 10.7 cu. ft. units 24" wide but 28.75" deep. Magic Chef has a 9.9 unit that is very economical that others have used but the owners manual states that it should not be used in recreational vehicles nor powered by an inverter. The 5 year compressor warranty would be useless. Hope this helps
- lynndiwagonExplorerIf you have one of those 4 door norcold or dometic fridge's in your rig, a popular replacement is the Samsung RF18. Pulls 1A on AC and about 10A on the DC side. It will run on a MSW inverter. Go to the samsung site and look up the fridge and it will give you the dimensions. You won't be sorry...
- donn0128Explorer IISamsung 10cuft has been very popular retrofit. But I understand it has been discontinued. Take your measurements of the opening and let google be your friend.
- aslaksonExplorerFirst thing you need to do is get the dimensions of the space you have for the refrigerator, so the new one will fit. A residential refrigerator will have more internal space than an RV refrigerator. Our new residential unit is about half again as big inside than the RV unit, but still has essentially the same outside dimensions. Then what we did was head for Home Depot with a tape measure. Then you can also verify the current draw. Once you get dimensions, you can also shop the internet. I'm pretty sure the coils on ours are in the back, but he whole back is sealed, so I'm not sure.
FWIW, the Samsung unit we chose was also on sale at Home Depot, and they delivered it free the next day.
