Planning you need to reduce your picture sizes to 700 wide. Getting rid of my NoCold 1200 2.5 years ago is the best thing I've done...should have done it sooner but like the above post I thought it would hurt Boondocking...NOT if properly powered.
X2 on what Planning posted above, BUT I have found my numbers to be a little different. When running my $500 Whirlpool 21 cuft Energy Star uses 8 amps DC measured before the dedicated 1000W PSW inverter...that's 96 watts when running aprox 40% of the time. An additional two batteries will run it two days before needing to recharge if I turn off the ice maker and defrost cycle...I put in 4 AGM batteries and make ice when traveling or on shore power.
Out West we usually Boondock 5 days out of every week and before going residential and with a plasma TV and halogen lights I had to run my generator 3.5 hours/day to keep the batteries up. Now with LED TVs and lights and residential it's less than 2 hours BUT I added an additional 100 amp charger to the new power system for the residential.
If properly setup there is not any good reasons to not go residential and still boondock, especially in a BIG MH as they were already energy hogs. Not sure I'd pay $1800 for a 17 cuft Fisher & Paykel RF170BRPX6 but it did solve the handle problem.
