We purchased a new fifth wheel and that was one of my "must haves". We will occasionally overnight somewhere enroute to a location, but that is the only time we are without power. Our battery/inverter will keep the fridge running at least 24 hours and we purchased a second battery for that "just in case" time.
We are 4, so it's hard to put more than a day or two worth of food in a regular RV fridge. Now, we can take stuff out of our freezer at home, we have plenty of room and we can take a gallon of juice, tea, milk and whatever else we may want/need. And, as someone above said - real FROZEN ice cream!
I've done the boondocking thing when I was younger, but that does not interest me anymore.
