welp the Samsung RF195-197 requires 115v at 11.6 amps or 1334 watts. The mfg claims a 40-50% duty cycle when operating with the doors shut. That becomes 533 to 667 watts/hr. Most trucks charging voltage to a trailer is fused at 25 amps which is 300 watts. So there is no way the batteries can be kept up to full charge while driving with out the additional charge from solar panels. Driving for 8hr would not drain the batteries, but would require shore power to bring them back to full charge.
If one is dry camping they would need some serious solar panels over 1000 watts just to keep up with the 24 hr power drain. A generator would come in handy for that application. Therefore propane refrigerators are an economical way to go for dry camping and electric ref are the way to go when limited dry camping with a generator.
