Retiring from full timing the end of December

My wife and I found a great retirement community in Asheville, NC , actually in Black Mountain called Givens Highland Farms and they have a one bedroom with den and garage available now....anyway I just posted our fifth wheel on RV Trader and Craigslist in Charlotte which is where we will be till we move into our new place the end of December. Also thinking of RVT. Once the fifth wheel sells we can sell our truck and get a mid size suv.
6 years and we can now say we have spent the night in every state....but for us the timing is perfect
What a trip.....and this forum has been the best

  • Wishing you happy memories as you start a 'new phase' in life.

We FTd for 7 yrs before going back into a S&B.......would have continued FTng if it wasn't for a 'life curve ball' but hey Life is still good

    Best of luck!

I personally prefer RVT over RVTrader, as they have better searches with many fewer false hits and they have a "runs 'til it sells" option for a set price. RVTrader has a 1 year max run and gives more false hits than valid hits most of the time. Unfortunately, Trader is still the 600 lb gorilla and gets about 10x the traffic that RVT does. On top of that, they cop an attitude if you complain about anything. RVT's people, OTOH, were always friendly and helpful the few times I called.

  • My best wishes for you to settle in. somewhere. The nomads FT life s very rewarding, not for everyone, A time may come to resettle. The freedom to do it is your choice of when and where.
  • I will agree. The Asheville area is a couple hours from us and we tend to scoot that way for many "cultural" activities.
