rig to external propane grill

I have pondered the same question. Here is what I have found with my limited knowledge. The propane tanks on the rig have a regulator that reduces the pressure to about 11 inches. The grill that uses the small 1 lb. tanks are a higher pressure. So the two are not compatible.

I hope someone tells me in detail that I'm wrong.
