Dually is nice but clumbsy and cumbersome if its your daily driver.Properly equipped 1ton srw will work just fine and be safe as well.
Depends on the weight..."properly equipped" means what? Air bags which do nothing but level a load. My daily driver and my TV are one and the same, my dually, been that way since 05'...never thought of it as being "clumsy and cumbersome", especially when towing on twisty, curvy mountainous roads...a very stable towing set up for heavy to heavier 5er's, which the OP is probably talking about. Guess if you're not use to driving one it might seem "clumsy and cumbersome" but that is about as far from the truth as one can get. The Longhorn Limited I'm driving is the "lap of luxury" and runs very quietly and very smoothly for a 1 ton crew cab, long bed, 4 wheel drive dually...How many dually's over the years have you owned, towed with and had as your daily driver? I'm speaking from experience of having owned, used as a daily driver and towed the same 5er with both...Nothing "clumsy or cumbersome" about today's 1 ton dually's.
The 1 ton SRW has it's application as does any other tow vehicle.. Depending on the weight of the 40' plus 5er, dually, without a doubt, is the way to go for payload, stability and safety...
