We 4 wheel our trailer on the beach. It is only 3 years old and it is starting to get heavy rust on the bottom where it is not covered. The girder is really rusty. How can I get this fixed and what should be used. I am will to have it done professionally but I do not know who will do this and with the right stuff. Please helpJosieRV

Step away from the RV aspect of your problem. You have rust on steel. There are many products on the market to abate rust. Rustoleum is a well known product for this problem. Just a little research on your part at a big box home improvement store should get you on the right track. Or even a little time spent at you computer screen studying rust abatement should get you started.

Just refinished ours. Used a wire brush and a scraper to remove what I could. I then brushed on Ospho on the underside and let dry over night. I then went to work with Rustolem in semi gloss black. Looks better than new. Time consuming and messy but worth the trouble.

Easiest way to stop the rust is to lightly wire brush, or sand with a rough paper to knock the loose scaly stuff off. Then one coat of POR-15 Here This stuff really works and is the one so many auto restorers use because it is so easy.
