Rv insurance

Hello guys, I just bought a fifth wheel and now I need to get insurance. I just called our insurance company that covers our house and our vehicles, and they offered a quote for RV insurance of $77 a year. That almost sounds too good to be true. The policy has the same coverages as our vehicles, but I was wondering what other things do you guys have covered specifically in your trailer RV policy? FWIW our insurance company is Liberty Mutual. When I inquired why the rates were so low, she said or truck covers the trailer when is in tow and the trailer is not much of a liability when it is sitting chocked at the campsite.

This quote is for:
Liability100k/300k
Uninsured 100k/300k
Liability property 100k
Uninsured property damage 50k
Underinsured bodily insurance 100/300k
comprehensive and collision insurance as well w/a $250 deductible.

I just want to make sure the insurance is actually worth something and want to know what to look for after I sift through the policy fine print. Your thoughts please.
  • WOW. No way that is legit. If it is, something is not covered and you don't want to wait until it is too late. I just got a quote for 26ft TT and it was $100 for 6 months, so that is $200 a year. I requested the low wen coverage because I don't want high end coverage for something I wont use more than 4 to 6 times a year.
  • Better check your truck policy for trailer coverage we have lib mutual but their ford e450 rates were very high for class c ended up with geico
  • Unless you are going to pack lots of STUFF into the rig you should be fine.
  • Something not right for $77 a year. I live in a very low crime area and perfect driving record and my 2016 23 footer costs more than that. Although you did not say the year I don't see it making that much difference. Just my $.02
