Our current insurance company is no longer writing insurance in NJ. And we are in search of A new RV insurance company for our 5th wheel.
Besides BlueSky , Progressive , and National interstate of Hawaii, all of which we have received quotes for .

What company's would all you fine Rv'ers suggest Rv specific insurance from .

P.S. Our Home and auto don't specialize in rv insurance.

Thanks Rich.

We have been with National Interstate for 7 yrs. Full Timers coverage.
Two claims...one minor & one major both handled quickly, efficiently, no hassles..good follow up and NO rate increases.

Interesting. I too was with National Interstate for 7 years - full timers coverage. Zero claims and no rate increases until 20% last year and an attempt at an additional 10% this year. I said no! My agent claimed it was due to overall rate increases in South Dakota.

Switching both rig and toad to Geico for similar coverage provided a 40% savings for me off what it would have been if I renewed.

They did have an increase and I called the agent to ask why.....agent looked into it and stated that some discounts weren't accounted for. Came back with new quote which was just slightly higher than last renewal so I stayed with them because of the good coverage and claim handling.
If it goes up next renewal that is not reasonable I'll shop around.

  • Just for clarification.....National Interstate has headquarters in Richfield, Ohio for the lower 48
The Hawaii Location deals in RV ins. for Hawaii & Alaska

They have several agents that can write ins. in NJ..couple of them are even located in NJ

Heard good things about Bluesky & Foremost
  • I just dropped National Interstate on the rig and Progressive on the toad for a combined policy with Geico. They were significantly less than staying like I was, or even doing a combined policy with Progressive. Since I don't have a stick house, can't compare that exactly to your situation. How much would your homeowners change if you moved your auto to Geico? Also, my situation is for SD and full-timing.
