Placing the living, bed & bath rooms on one level may be beneficial for someone with limit mobility. If you only eat 2-3 times a day....limit your snacking...you can wonder around on one floor. Maybe have someone else go up to cook.
I know....you only go to BED once a day. But the bathroom tends to be up those steps as well.
