After sale repairs are one reason to buy from a local dealer who will have your interest at heart more than one 1000 miles away.
That's a pretty broad stroke of the the brush there Dick. There are an overabundent number of stories of local dealers who don't even know you once you sign the check.
One of my points, minnow. I just wish that ONE mfr would start an automotive-style dealer network, where =any= dealer must work on =any= RV of that brand in the order in which it was brought in for service. No more, "didn't buy it here" b.s., forcing people to the back of the line. At the same time, the dealers would need to force, or need a firm commitment from the mfr that the dealer is NOT the finisher of half-built RVs that leave the factory. Also, the dealer service depts. would service =everything= in the RV; no more dealing with appliance/accessory warranties, unless they are longer than the factory warranty. I've said it before, and I'll keep saying it, how would you like to have to deal with Delco or Denso every time an alternator/fan/other electric/onic component failed on your car or truck, especially under warranty. Or deal with the company that made your brake calipers? Or...the list goes on. Same goes with inventory. Dealers should have national inventory lists of what's available at every other dealer in the country. Yeah, a specific dealer might lose one sale, but gain another when he's able to sell something off his lot to another dealer. Just like you can do with cars and trucks (for the most part). Yeah, yeah, I know it'll never happen; I can dream, can't I?
