RV Shocks for Coachmen 358 Royal

I am in the process of trying to replace the shocks on my 358 Royal 5th wheel.
The shocks that are on it are the stock Gabriel shocks pn# 610758 made for Coachmen. But they are not available anymore. I have spend 2 weeks trying to find a shock to replace mine and gotten nowhere. The closest shock i found was a Monroe 37047 but the bottom mounting hole is too small to slide on my 1/2" lower mount stud. The shock having a mounting hole of 12mm.
Has anyone had the same problem finding shocks for their trailer?
The compressed length of my shock is 7 3/4" with a extended length of 11 7/8". It has a stem on the top of the shock and the lower mount a metal bushing with a 1/2" hole that slides on a stud.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • I did contact both Gabriel and Coachman. Gabriel had nothing close and Coachman told me to go to auto parts store. So i called Monroe and the nice lady there took my compressed and extended lengths and gave me their closest matching shock which was the Monroe 37047. Only problem with that shock is the lower mounting bushing which slides on a stud is 12mm whereas the stud is 1/2". Working on something now that might workout but not sure. Thanks for all the comments. drfife, that shock won't work on my 358 because it has a stem on both ends.
  • Maybe contact the company and see if they still make it or have a replacement. http://gabriel.com/

I also have a pdf. of the shock that you have with all dimensions that may be of help however I'm not sure how to attach it to this post. If you private message me your email address i'll send it to you.
  • I did have a hard time..finally found some at rv store.
