Wife wants a new ride and she is thinking about a 2 or 4 seat RZR- Is Polaris going to offer a 1000cc RZR for next season? If a 1000 is in the works I might wait till the Fall to buy one. If not I think I will get one for our June Utah trip.Also- we are going to keep the Rhino as a back up and for my son to drive so we could get away with a two seater- Is there any benefit to a 4 seater other than being able to carry two extra people? Son and I are generally on bikes and it is just my wife and daughter in the UTV so two works. But if a 4 seater is better I am not against going that route. Thoughts and suggestions appreciated!

Its Razor, not Rasor...No idea on a 1000cc but I can tell you the current 900cc in the XP models is not lacking in the power department.Only Advantages of a 4 seater over a 2 seater is they tend to soak up the whoops a lot better due to the longer wheelbase.Nothing wrong with the RZR but have you checked out the 1000cc Can-Am Maverick? Buddy of mine recently bought one and really likes it. It is a bit faster than the RZR.

In addition to the Maverick Max, you also can look at the Wildcat 4 since both are 1000cc 4-seaters.

Not so much about speed (900 vs 1000) but the helmet law in CA.We tend to just cruise the UTV's- carry drinks, bring the dog along, haul kids... sort of thing. If we want speed we hop on a two wheeler. I would prefer to have the option to not wear a helmet when I don't want/need to...

Actually its RZR. But anyways I am sure they will come out with something its usually in July that they release new model. The Can am is a little faster but IMO isn't better than the XP900. The wildcat has great suspension but doesn't have the power of the XP900 or the Maverick.

Section 38603 of the Vehicle Code is amended to read:

38603.
(a) A person operating a recreational off-highway vehicle with a model year of 2014 or later shall not allow a passenger to occupy a separate seat location not designed and provided by the manufacturer for a passenger.
(b) Seats that are installed in a separate seat location not designed and provided by the manufacturer for a passenger in vehicles with model year of 2013 or earlier may be occupied by a passenger if the occupant of the seat is fully contained inside of the vehicle’s rollover protection structure at all times while the vehicle is being operated.

I haven't ridden much in CA except dunes,but I take the grandkids in the back seat,no longer allowed in CA .SSSo I gotta balance what might be comming to AZ.The Ranger has gone where no man has ever traveled,not really, but I have it the way I like,so it looks like 4 seater RZR down the road.It really gets me the way they pass laws to protect the idiots that screw up and get someone hurt or even worse.You can't fix stupid .RZR4 900 at end of year.

Fly-boy what did you decide on. I have a deposit down on the new rzr xp1000. The word around town is the 4 seater will be out in January. I like the idea of a 4 seater but the over all size of it will be the issue for me. I have thought of getting a 900 xp4 great deals on them now

The only thing I could add would be get the EPS... I'm the DW and I LOVE my EPS. Also, love my 800...
Just realized haven't changed our signature. The current rzr is a 2010.

I know the people that race the XPs either buy a 2 seater and make then longer, extending the frame or they buy the 4 seater and take the rear seats out. The longer wheel base makes them ride and handle better....probably another reason Polaris came out with the HP model on the longer WB but with only 2 seats

Samurai- Been there and done that.

Wife wants a RZR and since she indulges all of my hobbies and travels I am going to get her whatever she wants. Was just wondering about 4 versus 2 passenger and if there was any word of a 1000 in the works.

Some pretty good sales going on RZR's right now.

I have both a Samurai and an XP4. No comparison. If you want to have any speed then do the RZR. Samurai is great for trails and slow going.

RZR 900's are all 64" wide whether 2 or 4 place. Some of the 800's are 60" wide and some 50" wide. Google the Polaris site and you can compare all specs. They also make RZR's that are smaller specially for trail, 500's I think. I have the 900 4 limited and love it. Much smoother ride that comparable 2 place which can buck like a bronc if not careful. Also the two place will tip over backwards when climbing and the 4 won't (at least so far). They are all fun. The 800's and 900's all have more power and speed than most folks will ever need or want.
