The dealer can not replace the tires before the sale without getting the manufacturer to issue a new placard so the tires match the placard at first sale. Chris

What ever you choose you should get the dealer to include G's at no additional charge!

Good question, good point...Were you running GY G614's ?? If so, what was the date code and why didn't you just go to a G rated Sailun instead of going to a 17.5" Sailun?

I think you just need to get over the fact that someone could possibly want something different then you, or quite possibly a better product then yours.You come across its my way or the highway. give it a rest. Sorry that Sailun is becoming a popular tire with actual better reviews then GY has ever had. Don't believe anyone google GY ,and read the failures, and not just from the years you seem to be stuck on.

I think you need to quit getting stirred up about me giving my experience with a product and giving reasons for why I buy that product.

My comments are not to get you or anyone else to dump what you have but are for those in the market for a new tire.

What skin is it if I pay more for a tire than you do? No shin loss for me if you choose to buy something else.

Pretty much the same Merry Go Round with TrailerAid, B&W, RAM, CUMMINS, Michelin MS2's, Bilstien's, the list goes on for the products I have used and get great service from. Notice something about the things I just listed? They are all what the others compare them selves to!

Promote what you want and I will do the same.

I like Toyo tires, I like Monroe shocks, I like firestone air bags . The list goes on . Are we on the right path now :B

Looks like Sailun may have dropped the LT designation for the 16" G tire probably to compete with the G614 RST "regional service trailer" tire which also is not a ST tire as some folks mistakenly call it.

Its confusing at best - G614 RST but the size is still LT

FWIW, the Sailun S637 tires I bought for my toyhauler were clearly labeled on the sidewall: "For Trailer Use Only". The labeling also identified them as LT 235/85-16.

So another question. From what I gather when talking w/ the chap from Sailun the "old" Sailun's were LT rated and I'm quite positive he said the new ones are ST rated.

We can only go by Sailuns new S637 web pages which do not say anything about the 235/85-16 G or any of the other S637 17.5"/19.5"/22.5" S637's being a ST tire. The LT designation has been dropped.

What the new webpage does say is about the S637;
Applications:
Pickup & Delivery Trucks
Intrastate & Interstate Buses
Regional Trucks
Long Distance Trucks
Tractor Trailers
Low Platform Trailers

But Sailun has added a aserisk * for the 16" tire;
* S8244393 * 235/85R16 * 126/123
* All steel construction specifically designed for Trailer application only.

I'm one for LT tires and I recall the article Trailer Life did and how they ranted and raved about ST tires over LT ones. So GY's are LT along w/ both Kenda and Van Guard (latter 2 I'd be leary of for use in RV market). Sailun's sake of argument are ST rated. If the data label calls for LT's and Sailuns have a pretty good track record so far, given same weight ratings as LT's, still okay to put on? Limitations of ST in this ply? How do you know if they will fit (larger circumference than GY)okay before one has tire shop/online get them? I know like others have said, we could argue till the cows come home as to which brand is better, but would putting on ST's vs LT's be a really bad idea? Based on what I've been able to research, both GY and Sailun's seem to be the only 2 real players in the 14 ply market with one being a LT and the other a ST. FWIW (still dickering w/ seller/dealer on $$$ diff), the "new" or new to us coach has a GVW of 15,800.
