It's a CAT scale, nothing changed between the times I weighed it without the trailer and with the trailer. I'll take my real world weights vs your "simple math".
Sorry if that interferes with your calculations but I got what I got. The trailer unhooked from the 5th wheel but with the bikes loaded weighed 1200 lbs. Hooked up to the 5th wheel the trailer weighs 600 lbs. which translates to 600 lbs. at the hitch. The pin weight changed 40 lbs. when I reweighed with the trailer hooked up. The 5th wheel showed a gain of 600 lbs. and 40 lbs less at the pin. Sorry if that messes up your math, but it is what it is.
