scissor jacks

Our 5er came with 2 capacity c series jacks on rear. Are these better than the scissor jacks
I also would like to add 2 more jacks just in front of tires. Would scissors work ok there

  • All three of our 5th wheel trailers were bought used over the years came with scissor jacks at the rear. They were good at stopping bounce but nothing with side to side movement. I sold two sets and gave the last set to a neighbor with a small 18' '70s Layton TT.
One of the first mods was to jerk them off and install BAL telescoping stabilizing jacks at the rear. No bounce or side to side movement back there.
  • Our first trailer had that single leg system. I never could get it to feel really solid.

Replaced with a pair of scissors from CW. That lets you tweak the pressure on each side if necessary.

Extra jacks won't hurt anything, but you may be disappointed with the small measure of additional stability they provide. You won't get rock solid unless you get ALL weight off of the wheels/suspension.
  • Sorry the c series is the one on the back. It is a single unit on each side that folds down
They look like they should do a great job, just wondering if anyone had an opinion or changed them out.
  • Not a problem. The addition will help stabilize the trailer when parked.
  • depends on what your trying to accomplish with a scissor jack.

    What is a C jack ??
