The dam thieves will probably steal the truck.

There should be a bounty on thieves. :M

For the low-life that do these things their thought is that if we can afford these things then we likely also have insurance and will get another one free. Only we all know nothing in life is free unless you steal it. There should be more consequences if they are caught.

And this brings us to the old saying that if no one would buy stolen property there would be no reason to steal it.

Don't be part of that market.

I used to have the Pullrite super glide, it would only take a few seconds to unhook pins. But darn thing was so heavy it would take 2 people to get it out.

Now I have the B&W Companion slider. It takes a little longer to loosen the puck bolt and pole the pin. It would still take to people to remove it.

Although when not using it I do not leave it in the truck. When it is it is under cover and locked.

There is nothing worse then thieves. :M

There was a thread a while back, about locking hitches to the truck, or at least locking an easily removed hitch head. At that time, myself, and others, had not heard of anyone getting their hitch stolen.

I hate hearing this does happen, but good to know, so we can all be more cautious, or try using some type of deterrent, locks, cables, etc.

All these problems, including drugs, center around the consumer.

Shoot, if someone really wants to steal a hitch, and this simply can't be a spur-of-the-moment thing, then they come prepared to steal it. A couple locks/cables/chains isn't going to stop someone with a pair of large bolt cutters and/or a battery powered grinder with a cut-off wheel. We'll just have to look at this as an anomaly and hope for the best. And hope they stay in Oregon. :)

And then come the nay sayers, "I have never had anything stolen" comments and the such!

I was told the same thing that "it never happens" and by gosh, it did. I have locked my cheap hitch in my truck also. I put padlocks on the pins so you can't remove them. I hate to be so insecure but things are getting worse.
