Securing Pocket Door for Transit-new hardware/ideas needed

Need your help with this one-on our last trip, the bedroom pocket door bottom latch (built into the door) failed on our heavy door. At the end of a 100 mile trip, the lower latch mechanism failed and...

You may have to notch the trim.


This looks like a great idea, but the door is actually recessed in to the wall so that would not work as there is no door to grab on to.
