As a retired Deputy Sheriff, I have a Pistol Permit and also qualify annually with my former department so I can carry weapons in all 48 contiguous States under the National Carry Concealed Law Enforcement Safety Act and it's rare that I don't have a firearm with me. My case is different than most but I installed a firearm safe in my tow vehicle rather than in my 5th wheel. I also carry it concealed on my person when not in my tow vehicle and don't leave it unattended. At night when sleeping it's within my reach. However traveling from State to State and to most campgrounds with a firearm is a whole other issue for private citizens. Follow whatever applicable laws that pertain to you as well as the campground rules where you're staying regarding firearms. Most campgrounds I have been to have rules against having firearms. With all that said, in today's world, there isn't a snowballs chance in hell that I'm going to be without a firearm.
