We camp and ride our OHV’s in remote areas, and RV entrance door locks are very easily defeated...Just wondering if someone has made a locking security bar to help with securing the entrance door - any ideas or photos are much appreciated !!3 tons

Such a bar could slow a theft’s entry into your RV but if secured by a padlock not by much.

Are you putting bars across the windows too? If I was robbing trailers in remote areas, that would clue me in that something good must be in there and I should break out a window to see what I can find.Of course, you also have the problem that the walls of RVs aren't that strong. I'm betting any kind of bar could be removed in under 30sec with a crow bar or battery operated angle grinder.Just had to remove a padlock because I lost the key. Took me about 10min to find the angle grinder and hook up the cord. Grinder went thru the padlock like a knife thru hot butter.

With a trailer, there's no such thing as "security".

Bars across the doors and windows. Come back from trail riding...bars not touched...but your propane tank and battery are gone.
Just enjoy your time. Don't worry. You could come back to 2 flat tires,possible but highly unlikely.

In the Dez a night we lock everthing with a long cable with littles bells on it. Even in the desert you'll hear someones getting their stuff ripped off. We to go for long adventures nothing has been stolen yet.

Look up "shed security bar" it's not pretty but something like that might accomplish what you want for the door.

I installed a some home made ones for a Y's storage shed which has a bunch of sports equipment. I used galvanized struts and parts to hold it in place. Not attractive but they've seen a couple guys check out the sheds and walk away. Sure they could cut through it but they don't have the equipment or time. Good deterrent.

If you look at the recent looting of stores, it will give you an idea of how people gain access. There are some solutions that raise the bar on effort, but given enough time and no need to be quiet in a remote area...

Our dogs hang out inside the trailer while we ride. Seems pretty safe.

I boondock as well. When we are gone with the toys, there is still at least one vehicle left in camp... So any would be thief won't know if anyone is inside the trailer or not. Sometimes there is, sometimes there isn't.

Do you feel lucky punk. Well do ya?

Never had a problem in 30+ years

Just get a motion detector. Hook it to a recording of a mean pitbull tearing **** apart. That'll keep anyone away.
