As far the ones who want to negotiate right off the bat, that's just their nature. Its like a competition for them. You could advertise a brand new toy hauler for $1000 and there will be somebody who won't buy it unless you go $800.
Everybody wants to be a Pawn Star these days.
Negotiating a good deal has been around waayyyyyy longer then pawn stars has been on tv.
