Separating your vehicles in an emergency

I've never unhitched a 5th. I suppose something like put the truck in neutral, drop the landing gear, pull the pin and push the truck hoping it will roll away from the trailer. But then you have a truck on fire that's moving out of control.

Carry good insurance is the only solution I can think of.
