From my very begging of considering a fifth wheel, I read here that you need to protect yourself, in case someone pulls you pin at a stop! I put a lock, so the pin can not be pulled and unintentionally drop the rig! If you have a fire, you only have a small window to get people, pets and things out of harms way! Stumbling with a lock on the pin is not where I would want to spend my time during a fire! Even without the lock, that is time you should be using for medicines, glasses, phone, etc. As stated pay up your insurance, and hope you have a good company! Property, truck and RV can be replaced, as well as personal belongings, people can not be!
