I see the TV was a 2013 F350 6.7 diesel. There is a discussion on another thread about an owner had his fuel filters changed at a dealer. The 6.7's have a quick disconnect in the line to the engine filter that is disconnected to change the filter. The tech didn't connect it back correctly and when the truck left the dealership it came loose and pumped diesel all over the engine. Luckily the engine was cold and didn't start on fire. Another reported his popped loose 2 weeks after a filter change. Might do to check if you have someone else change the top fuel filter.
I have a 6.4 and don't have the QD. Just passing it along..
All signs are pointing to this being the reason for the fire. Ford corporate and the dealership have been notified by me and the insurance company. The first thing they did was notify their corporate legal department for CYA purposes. However, there is no evidence left to prove or disprove the theory. My insurance company said it wouldn't be cost effective to go after them due to the lack of evidence.
It appears to me that having to remove the fuel lines to change the filter is a really sloppy design.
I don't do my own maintenance, but I'll make darn sure to crawl in there and tug on those fuel lines the next time.

Get a GM and there won't be a "next time". :-)

Even though Ford corporate is being hush-hush, my local dealer was wonderful. They gave me a deal on a new '16 Superduty that was amazing. He even covered the down payment until I got my insurance settlement so I didn't have to wait the typical 4-6 weeks. So I'll remain a Ford guy.
