A stronger sidewall than what? Have you actually compared an ST tire side-by-side to an LT tire of the same size? Or are you passing on what you've read or been told?
There is simply no comparison between my Sailun LT tires, now they're labled ST, which are G-rated, to the Carlisle E-rated ST tires I removed from my toyhauler. Comparable weight carrying capacity, but worlds apart in construction. The sidewalls on the Carlisle felt like tissue paper compared to the Sailun. Sitting on the Carlisle tire would almost flatten the tire, sitting on the Sailun was hardly noticeable.
