Once you know your steer axle, drive axle and trailer axle weights it will help. If the scale isn't busy and you can disconnect and weigh just the truck steer & drive axle will then tell you how much that hitch weight is putting on your truck.
Besides getting a weight distribution and anti-sway hitch I hope you have trailer brakes and a brake controller. If not you will need to get that too. As far as weight distrubition (WDH) I used and liked the The Equal-i-zer Sway control hitch
