If the air admittance valve is bad it will still stink even if there is water in the traps.

Question or 2,

1. How to you know if the Air Admittance Valve is bad and needs to be replaced or just water needs to be added to shower P trap

2. If water is leaking out around the top seal is there a fix other than tearing toilet apart.
