Shaking/vibration

Things used to ride in one place. Now the table turns over, tv has come loose. And leans against the slide when closed, hooks bounce off the shower wall. Any ideas what the cause might be? This is a 2008 30 foot cardinal with 2 slides. Any ideas would be appreciated!

  • Did you go to a different type of tire, an LT tire with a higher air pressure and a stronger sidewall?

Those will also transmit more road shock to the trailer and what is inside it.
  • Have you bumped a curb lately? That could lead to problems, problems like those mentioned above.
  • Hard to believe that an unbalanced tire would do all that. Have you checked all the tires for roundness. Check to see if one has a belt separation or a bulge causing it to wobble. You could walk behind the trailer in a cg while someone drove it slowly. Hopefully you've checked the lugs. I've been down some roads that would also jostle things.
  • If you have the equa flex suspension you may want to check it. I replaced mine at the end of summer. They were worn in both spots were the springs connect along with the rubber parts were bad. The balance of the moving parts showed alot of ware. I also replaced the shocks at the same time. I have not taken the camper out since doing the work so do not know if the ride will be any better. I really never saw much movement in the camper. Also check your springs for missing or broken leafs.
  • Might not be a bad idea to check shackle and spring bolts. Or just check all the suspension components for wear.
  • oh man, you guys just made me think, I just bought new tires and I don't think I told them to balance the new tires, well I guess it's back to the tire store.
  • Your table turns over? Isn't it secured down? You can't pull mine loose. How is the TV held on? Shower hooks? Are they the suction kind. Mine never stay on that long. I guess what I'm getting at is over time things can work their way loose so that fasteners don't stay on well anymore. Have you noticed the trailer riding rough in your mirror. Maybe have someone in a car check out your trailer when you are going down the road to see how the wheels are riding. I've been behind a few trailers with bent wheels, out of balance wheels etc.
  • Have you put new tires on? Many places don't balance tires if they're going on a trailer.
