Shine on fiberglass restorer

I was on you tube yesterday and ran across a fiberglass restoration clear coat called Shine on. I was wondering if anyone has used it and if so did you have good sucess with it. It is pretty simple like the floor wax treatment others have used but is made for rv's, boats and other things. I need to do something to shine up my 10 year old fiver that has become dull over the years.
  • They tell you what it is not, but not what it is... Safe bet it is another acrylic product similar to Zep or Mop and Glo which you can get for just a few bucks. Same process to apply.... clean, clean, clean then apply several coats and then reapply as needed. Want UV protection? Apply a final coat of Aerospace 303.

I applied several coats of mop and glo to my 15 year old motorhome and it really shined it up. It's not too bad to apply. start with a really clean unit and then apply. Dries fast so by the time to get one coat on, you can usually start a second. watch out for runs.
  • Yes the product works great.
I have a 16 yr old 5th and looks great.
One problem is very labor intentes.
Takes a while to bring out shine on 30 ft camper but works:)
  • Dunno, just can't wrap my head around applying floor wax to a RV. If it does not have a gelcoat maybe that is one thing but with a gelcoat it really should be treated like a boat instead of your kitchen floor.

Lots of products will give quick self gratification but not last long. IMO there is no substitute for the proper product used in the proper way, even if it is very labour intensive.
