short box vs long box

hi all i have been towing with a 02 ford f350 short bed i just bought a 06 f350 dually my question is can i use mt pulright slider in the long box or will it be more of a hassel thanks happy trails
  • The slider will still work. But a non slider would make for a little cleaner bed by eliminating the slider rails.
  • As long as you have no parking or heavy traffic issues, I highly recommend the long bed. It rides better under tow and you have a lot more usable cargo space in front of the hitch for things like tool boxes and extra fuel tanks. As far as your slider hitch goes, you should't need it, however unless you have money to burn, keep it, it won't make any difference. If your shopping for a new hitch, I would go with the B & W Companion. With regard to the post above, Ford did not have the "puck" system in 2006.
  • If you have the puck system I would advise selling your hitch and get the B&W puck system.
