Shorter luxury fifth wheel

Hi All
D.W. and I are looking to downsize now that the kids have lost interest in spending time with us camping. We are looking forward to spending some time in some State Parks. We want a well made fifth wheel that is under 34', pin to bumper. Seems like all the high end units are 36' and up. Any suggestions? Weight and height are not an issue. We want something that is well made.
Thanks.
  • Carriage in the used arena. We had a 2011 Carriage Cameo 31ksls. Tons of room including a full front closet AND a separate side hall closet that accommodated a side/side washer/dryer. That floor plan was made in 2011-12 until Carriage closed.
Lifestyle carried over the Carriage 32fws called a LS32fw. Great rig! It was dropped in late 2014 and is being replaced with the new LS32rl.
I have a 2014 Lifestyle fiver and love it. Solid rig and everyone who enters comments on the fact. Good luck.
  • How deep are your pockets? New Horizon would build a very high end rig of any length for you.
Their basic prices though start at $100,000.00
  • Can you define "luxury"? Do mean expensive? Well appointed? Non lippert frame? The point is that for 5ers luxury really is defined by length and width not really quality (today that is). The only brand that comes to mind that is luxury and pricey for sub 32' is Airstream. As an added bonus you will automatically be "cooler" for owning one ;). Although it is not a fiver.
  • You want to look at a Lifestyle LS32RL if you want high end
  • Our NuWa 31.5LKTG DA is 33'11"

New HitchHiker's aren't available, but you can find nice used ones at kansasrvcenter.com

    Good luck
  • We purchased our luxury fifth wheel, a Heartland Big Horn, new in 2010. It was the next to the shortest at outside hitch to bumper length of 35'5". We selected this model rather than the shortest because of the floor plan. We knew we didn't want to get any longer than 35' so we settled for the 5". It's a perfect length just for the two of us, but when our son and his family come camping with us, we fit snugly at night and spend the entire day outside, so it works for the one time they go with us.
  • I would look at Arctic Fox not the most luxurious but a good fiver and good four season.
  • High-end companies are known to make just about anything you want. Whether that means length.. I don't know. You might try Lifestyle or DRV.
