It was asked by camping world if I wanted to purchase the 7 year extended warranty by Good Sam for $1800.00 I am asking as a general question is this a good move? House keeping;We plan on keeping the trailer for about 8-10 years, if we decide to sell before the 7 year term is up then we are refunded the difference ($22/month) This is our first 5th wheelJayco offers a 2 year bumper to bumper warranty 10 year floor 5 year roof???Deductibles: 100 if not at comparing world 50 if at a camping world location Thoughts please

Congrats on your new RV.You will get different opinions on extended warranties. You have a two year warranty from the manufacturer. Does the extended warranty start at the end of the factory warranty?Or, is it concurrent with the factory warranty, which means you're buying a 5 year warranty.Some like the 'security' of the extended warranty. Others say there are too many exclusions on the extended warranty.Read the contract before you buy.Enjoy your travels.

I did it once. Found out there are a LOT of ways they can deny your claim. Also that 7 year extended warranty is actually only 5 years since you said you have a 2 year factory warranty. If you calculate that money then research what items really go wrong after 2 years, you should find that it is better to put that money in the bank to draw interest then use it for repairs, you'll probably find yourself ahead. Also, that "refund" should you decide to cancel; is applied to the back of the loan so you won't see any refund until you sell it.

At that price I'd probably go for it. BUT-- Is it a good warrentee company and will it be around in 3 or 4 years or like so many before them gone out of business? On an RV there are so many little things that can go wrong, but the way they are built(sloppy,poor workmanship) that the extra expense can be justified. When it take two people to remove a TV because the cord came out of the wall or changing a fuse on the convertor because you cant's get to it. Unlike the stove or washer or?? at home that are quite dependable where I did buy a warrenty and never needed.
